Visitors Welcome: $5.00 Speaker Fee
Daffodils in Bloom and Other Great News:
Such as: Easter and our wonderful program for April!!
I’m going in circles about “Going Around in Circles,” a lecture and trunk show about the Mariner’s Compass and Starburst patterns. If you don’t already know Phyllis Franck, you will be as excited as I am to meet her and see her quilts, and if you do, you will want to see her latest work. A charter member of our guild, she continues to be active in the quilt world with interests in quilt history and fabric study.
“I have always been fascinated that quilt blocks such as Mariners Compass and Sunburst could be so easily hand pieced in about the same time it took them to be done by machine. That made them the perfect quilt blocks to do while traveling. Over the years I have made many of these quilts and have quite a few more in progress,” she says. She is also an expert hand quilter, providing icing for the cake.
IMPORTANT—if you are planning on taking class(es) with Bonnie K. Hunter, we must have your payment at or before the April meeting. The classes are nearly filled, and we cannot hold your spot.
Also on the VP table at the April meeting is an opportunity to sign up for Cathy Jeffers workshop, July 14, “Layered Art Quilts.” If you have not already done so, have a look at her website, www.cathyjeffers.com.
Enjoy your Easter celebration, and Keep on Quiltin’.

A Note from the President...

I received several positive comments about reserved seating for next years retreat. J If anyone has any Asian fabric scraps 5” or larger we could certainly use them for the retreat next year. Yes, we have already started planning for a great time, so KIMONO-VER and have some fun with us on the Oriental Express.
Please consider becoming a Demos person or taking over for Dawnetta and Pat as the Community Quilts Chairperson/people.
Blessings to Everyone!

at the end of this Newsletter and on the Guild website.
Registration of Quilts: Please continue to register your quilts for the show. You can do this by downloading the form from our website and doing it all online or by a paper copy. I'll have some at the next Guild meeting. Please don't register a quilt because it isn't finished yet. Register it and finish that binding and label. That's what I'm doing with a large queen size bargello. It is a good incentive!!! But if you have any questions, please let me know.
Raffle Tickets: I want to thank the ladies who have borrowed the quilts for the month of March. They are taking it to work, meetings, and church to sell tickets. This is wonderful. If you can't do this, please buy $5 or $10 worth of tickets. Every little bit helps.
Winners Circle: If your quilt won at the
2010 MVQG Quilt Show, and you wouldn't mind letting us hand it in the "
Volunteers: Heidi Young still needs a lot of names on the sign up board. If you have had time since Guild to look at your calendar, please email Heidi and sign up. The show can't be a success without your help.

Don't forget: no pillows, stuffed animals or bed quilts. However, if you do have a bed quilt you would like to sell, let us know.
